Stapedial reflex testing (also known as acoustic reflex testing) evaluates the involuntary muscle contraction in the middle ear in response to loud sounds. This reflex provides valuable information about the auditory pathway from the ear to the brainstem.

At Beirut Ear Clinic, our audiologists perform Videonystagmography (VNG) to assess balance function and diagnose disorders of the inner ear and vestibular system.
VNG is a non-invasive test that records eye movements to evaluate how well your inner ear and brain coordinate balance. During the test, you're asked to follow visual targets and respond to changes in head and body position. The test may also involve gentle stimulation of the inner ear with warm and cool air or water.
Abnormal eye movements (nystagmus) can indicate issues with the vestibular system, which plays a key role in balance. VNG helps our audiologists pinpoint the cause of dizziness, vertigo, or imbalance.
